Recertification Requirements

Information on recertification for either the LSLS Cert. AVT^TM or LSLS Cert. AVEd^TM designations

Continuing education is an industry best practice for certified professionals to demonstrate to employers and families with whom they work that they have maintained their knowledge of listening and spoken language with the most relevant, up-to-date educational activities available.

LSLS™ certified professionals are responsible for documenting their continuing education activities and for renewing their certification status every two years.

To maintain the LSLS credential, at least 15 approved continuing education units (CEUs) must be documented within the two-year certification renewal period.

There are two main ways for a LSLS to earn Academy-approved CEUs

• Participation in programs that have been pre-approved by the Academy
